I used to think that the WWF was a decent organization, heck I've even donated to them in the past...well not any more. They have now joined the ranks of PETA in my book - organizations that might have good intentions at the very root of their cause but ones that have lost touch with reality. The ad agency and bozo's in charge at WWF are both pointing fingers trying to distance themselves from the below ad but I'm sorry, I don't buy it. Somebody on both sides of the finger pointing gave the go ahead to create the video, somebody on both sides thought it was a good way to get the point across - Yes, Mother Earth is very capable of wreaking some serious havoc on the animals that live upon her. Yes we should respect and treat accordingly the planet that sustains us. Making the comparison with a very tragic event that took place eight years ago...not so smart unless you subscribe to a very fringe way of thinking - be as in your face as you can to get the point across.

Shame on you WWF for the part you played in the creation of this video. Own up to your mistake, be responsible and take action on those that bought off on this project. Do that and maybe many who used to donate to a good cause will do so again.

This whole bit of requiring people to sign the clipboard to enter has been noticed at other events, hearing that it's being taken back to D.C. as a sign of those in favor of this mess...well it's not surprising. If you can't get support in a legitimate way, do it the Chicago way.

It's one of the great things about this country, the ability to have different views...but lately I'm noticing that the party in power is getting irate at the thought that not everyone is supporting their ideas. They disagreed with just about everything that happened during the Bush years and were quite vocal about it...now that they're in power and *gasp* not everyone agrees with their ideas and is speaking up about it...well that's just unpatriotic now isn't it.

How's your hope and change? Like your taxes now? Just wait and see how you feel after the '10 elections.

Term limits...the President has them, so should congress! Being a D.C. politicial should NOT be a career.

OK, can't argue that someone would want the best possible care for their families...but that's coming from someone that already gets (for life) some of the best medical benefits available. Take some time and google what benefits our elected bozos get, look at how short of a career in DC then need to have to get benefits for life. Call or write your Senator and Representative and ask them if they'll give up the coverage they currently get and take the one they're trying to hand out to the rest of us. Go ahead and ask them and if they say no, ask them why you should accept it.

I'm not saying that the current health care is great but I really don't think the proposals I've been reading are going to do anything but hurt the general public. But what do the numnuts in DC care...they're covered.

There's been so many things that I've wanted to post here but instead I've just been biting my tongue...this one is a bit to much for me to chew. What does it take to earn the title of Senator? Well you've got to excel at kissing ass, pandering to rich people to pay for your publicity and not a whole lot more. What does it take to earn the rank of General? Usually 20+ years of serving your Country, more often than not in places most people don't think of when planning a vacation. You probably have spent more days and nights than you care to remember cold, hot, hungry, tired, sore or scared for your life. You have demonstrated leadership skills, you've lead men and women possible into battle where the decisions you've made might have cost people their lives. Oh and yes, you've even learned how to show respect for seniors and subordinates that you might not like all that much. If senator Boxer would ever look beyond the disdain she has for all things military she might have learned in her time wearing that chip on her shoulder that says "Look at me, I'm a Senator" and realized that when someone in uniform addresses you as either Sir or Ma'am it's a sign of respect to someone they recognize as senior to their own rank. Now it is also used when addressing civilians in general but still, in this case, the General was using an appropriate title for this occasion. Now if he only addressed her as Ma'am and used Senator when addressing male Senators then yes I would say he was incorrect but what you would see if the media would show the entire session was he used Sir and Ma'am in addition to Senator through out the hearing. I think she was only trying to stroke her ego and also disrupt the hearing because she didn't care one bit what the General had to say. Sad...

If she also had any clue about the military she might realize that when a subordinate addresses a senior solely by their rank, it usually means that the junior has no respect for the senior and is only recognizing the rank. It's appropriate to address a senior in that manner so they can't really do anything about it but it's a very obvious way for a junior to let a senior know how they feel.

I really wish California would get a clue and see that the Dumocrates they've been electing in addition to the Rebublicians in both state and national races really aren't doing much good for anyone and in the next election vote all the incumbents out! Let your voices be heard, the bozo's in Sacramento and D.C. need to be reminded they are there to represent the people not get rich and inflate their ego's beyond belief.

OK, sorry about the previous post and the pics not fitting...I was tired.

Now we all know that politicians lie, it's a sad fact and one I wish we the voting public would call them on....but we don't and they keep lying. Shame on us. Campaigns are all about lying, you say one thing to one group and another to a different crowd the next day, that's where history is important since you have to look at an individuals values and voting record to get an idea of what they'll really be like. Still, some campaign promises are actually easy ones to keep...if you've got nothing to hide that is. Take Obama's promise for more transparency in our Government - the one about posting bills online for us to review before he signs them...simple to keep, you'd think! I don't expect every one to meet his promise, somethings need to be signed quickly, but come on...why couldn't he at least get a few up there?

Why aren't more people calling him on these? Why are his followers still stuck in the clouds? If the people in your life can't keep simple promises do you have faith in them to keep the big ones? I don't...

So yet again the qualifying factor in choosing the people our President surrounds himself with is a difficulty in paying taxes. Didn't he campaign on running an open administration that was ethical and not business as usual? How many exemptions has he made to his no lobbyist rule? Speaking about change, how about the $900,000,000 Clinton wants to give to the Palestinian's? Since it's only millions they're talking about that's nothing right? Especially since OUR economy is doing so well and we've got so many people working that we don't know what to do with them... Normally I'm all for helping out other countries but the Palestinian's? Isn't that the place that pretty much voted Hamas into power? Or at least doesn't mind when they launch rockets into Israel from schools and homes? Yeah I know the article says they'll TRY to ensure the money doesn't end up in Hamas hands but if you believe they'll be effective at that I've got a bridge to sell you.

Oh and has anyone seen where the Dow ended up today? Can't blame Bush anymore...it's been in free fall since Obama won the election.....and boy that 787 BILLION that was supposed to be targeted and effective sure has boosted the confidence in the market.

He sure can talk the talk but when it comes time to walk the walk...well I'm waiting.

Change...we've had change but I'm not seeing how it's a positive one.

One final question....remember back a couple of months when the media was talking all about that huge questionnaire that potential employees for Obama's administration had to fill out...did they leave out a question about paying ones taxes? I thought it was patriotic to pay taxes??? At least that's what the VP tried to get us to believe. Guess the current administration doesn't feel that way when it's their own money.

Don't know if any of you bothers to listen to Spendbama's speech on Tuesday but all I got from it was 'second world nation' here we come. For the first couple weeks of his presidency I was curious, now I'm not, I'm scared. I believe with all my heart that he's taking our country in the wrong direction. Yes his speeches make all the used car salesman jealous, he's good as long as he's got a teleprompter....but it's all fluff, when you start looking at any substance that 'leaks out'(he isn't one for a lot of details) things don't add up. Reinstating the 'scary gun ban' because it'll help Mexico with their drug cartel problem...the BS flag is a waving...when will the left learn that gun control doesn't work because the only ones it hurts are the people that obey the laws!

There were a lot of other things I wanted to rant about but I've got to head over to Donner to figure out why the cam isn't working.

Obama may have started his term with a crappy economy but in one signature he claimed it as his. 787 billion dollars is just the beginning of what he wants to spend. Does anyone honestly believe that he'll be able to tax the rich enough to meet his lofty goal of cutting the deficit in half? Here's a little hint how the media is going to help him - by "including" the war and everything else he "said" Bush left out of the budget, well he's going to give up on Iraq, he's going to cave in on Afghanistan, he's going to cripple our military worse than Carter and Clinton did and with a few puffs of smoke and some mirrors he'll cook the books to make himself look like a hero.

I truly hope people wake up...the Republicans share a lot of blame for how our nation's health was a month ago but again, between the two idiots running the House and the Senate and Obama....it's all on them now and I fear for our future.

CNBC isn't so thrilled either and they're not exactly known for harsh words against this President.

So the wonderful Al Sharpton needed to make sure everyone remember who he was...the press needed something besides the economy to write about...and it seems like this cartoon was the distraction they were looking for.

Now when I first saw it I didn't think about Obama until the press pointed it out...and even still I don't see it. He didn't write the bill and he'll only want to take credit for it if it works...so all I see is the artist using the other chimp story and tying that and the stimulus together...not very well. Seems like a non-story to me. But since the media would rather have this in the headlines instead of how the DOW fell yet again I figured I'd put up a LINK for some of the quality cartoons that the left didn't think would offend anyone.

So for those of you that have signed all those papers when buying a home do you remember how you felt when you actually saw just how much you were going into debt? Well, we all now own a piece of that 787 BILLION dollar debt our new leadership signed before reading. Boy...I sure do feel good about it!

Do you remember the fiasco that was played all over the media when the automakers flew to DC in their private jets...did you hear that both AF1 and AF2 were flown to Denver for the historic signing of debt? Lets see...automakers flying in small business jets...AF1 is a 747 and AF2 is a 757...not exactly small business jets. Oh and does anyone care about what other aircraft are also flown when ever the President or Vice President travel? A lot more than you'd think. A lot more....and they're not small business jets...ok so one of them is but the other several aren't. Do you think they fly the several helicopters that travel in his bubble there? Nope, they're loaded in a plane and flown there. How about his limo? Is that driven...nope, that's loaded in a plane too. How about the vehicles that the Secret Service use? Yep, loaded in planes.

Now I'm not complaining about all of the stuff required to protect the President, it's needed and that's the price we pay, it's a lot but it's worth it. Same for the VP, he needs it. My gripe is that this trip and his follow on visit to Phoenix seems to be something more like a campaign style trip than one that has substance to it. Flash over substance though is what I see Obama being all about so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. He likes his spiffy plane (his words, not mine) and he's enjoying the perks that goes with the office he holds. Honestly, I can't fault him for that, Lord knows if I was in that position I'd be getting a kick out of the perks too...I just think when we're telling everyone to tighten their belts, spend wisely and don't fly to DC when asking for money that maybe, just maybe this bill could have been signed in the capital of waste, Washington DC. Do as I say, not as I do...I am seeing more politicians follow that saying then not and I wish the citizens of this nation would use their voice at the ballot box to get the point across that we're tired of that.

So last night I did something out of the ordinary....I went out. A very good friend of mine that I frequently refer to as my favorite libtard, TheBoy and two of her friends were up in the area this weekend and had planned on going to see some dueling pianos. Well I couldn't pass up a chance to see her since it had been well over a year so even as anti-social as I am, well I had to go. I'm glad I did!!

So what's with the ying and yang...well on the up side I'm getting to see friends that I haven't seen in some time, I've reconnected with some I haven't talked with in YEARS and I'm happy that's one of the positive things for me now that I'm on the West Coast again. The flip side is I miss my friends back on the East Coast and while I know it'll be a while before one in particular is able to make it out here I am really looking forward to the day she and her hubby visit so I can show them a lot of the great things this side of the country has to offer.

Now I've got to do something I haven't had to do it about a year...go to bed at a decent hour so I am rested for work the next day... YEA for work and a pay check...BOO for no more life of leisure. :)

THIS is one of those stories that I'm curious to see how it unfolds. I'm rather emotional about this story because a friend of mine lost her brother in that attack and I was stationed on the same class of ship and if it had happened to my ship I would have either died or been seriously injured due to the proximity of my workspace to where the bomb went off.

I'm curious what President Obama will say to those families when he meets with them...

One lesson our President and a majority of this nation's citizens needs to learn is that you can't judge everyone in the same court system that we're entitled to. Yes it'd be great if reality worked like that but there needs to be ways to deal with situations such as this along with the hundreds that have happened and will happen. We need to find a balance between our beliefs and principals while keeping our nation safe from those that have no regard for life and whos goals is to see our distruction. We can't give up on either so keep an eye on this administration and see what happens...

I get that he's trying to say that there are voluntary ways to minimize the amount of money you send to the IRS but the end point is that we are all required to 'contribute' a percentage of our earnings...one way or another.

I disagree that some of these should be labeled as 'wasteful' but when I look at the numbers... A lot of bad mistakes and greedy people got us to where we're at and I'm scared that this 'stimulus' (at least in it's current form) is another bad idea. It just seems to me that the party writing this bill is using it as a chance to send a Thank You to everyone that helped put them in power. Where's the line item for my favorite libtard? I'd still be against this package but at least I'd know for certain that some of the money was going to a good person. I also wouldn't mind seeing 50 THOUSAND for myself, it'd pay off all my debts (minus the house) and what I had left over would make a good down payment for a new one in Nevada - do that for us little people and I'm sure that'd have an effect on the economy. I'm sure my friend Bef wouldn't mind some too along with my sisters....heck how about ALL the little people. Screw these CEO's making millions, help the middle class since we're the ones that do a lot of the shopping.

Doorbells and dog parks...

I'm sure there are other sites just like this one but it's the first one I've come across so you all get the link. First off, yes there seem to be a lot of good 'infrastructure' type projects listed in this that would put a lot of construction workers to work - new things being built, old things being fixed...over all not a bad idea. My only question about this and it isn't related to the Stimulus Package but more towards people in general - construction work is hard labor, I just don't see a lot of unemployed people running out there to find those type jobs. There is a reason construction workers get paid a lot, they earn it in sweat. So my feeling is that yes a lot of good projects will be started, not a whole lot of new jobs.

Now some of the more 'not appropriate' ones I saw in a quick scan were for doorbells and a 500K dog park. Everyone knows I love dogs, I think having dog parks in the local communities is an awesome thing and I'd like to see more of them everywhere. My gripe, what's a 500K dog park going to look like? Will there be a chilled pool for the doggies to splash around in? I don't know what all is involved but since it's for the construction of said park and dog parks usually don't require a lot of construction beyond a fence and maybe some benches...call me Scrooge but I don't see jobs being created and I don't think it belongs in this package. Oh and it's not the only dog park listed... My thoughts are that things like this should be funded by the local communities, through volunteer projects and donations...not by federal tax dollars. Yes I know communities are broke all over but instead of taking from others, maybe the local politicians should look at their budget and figure out where they went wrong. Wealth redistribution is not a fix for our financial woes, yes those that are on the receiving end will be happy for a short while but in the long run, it hurts things more than it helps as those that had the wealth find other places to go that allow them to determine their own uses for what they earned.

Anyways, check out the site, see what's being proposed for your area and also look around elsewhere and see if there is anything that you'd question it's place in a bill being shoved down our throats.

So back during the campaign our VP said that paying taxes was patriotic...well that's not how I'd describe my feelings towards taxes but we'll follow his lead for now. My question for the new team in town is how come you keep hiring people to lead us out of the financial crisis that can't even figure out their own taxes? Seems poor Mr. Daschle had to fork over some $140,000 in unpaid taxes so he could be slotted into the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Of course who can forget our Treasury Secretary Mr. Geithner who's supposed to be a genius at all this financial stuff and yet has issues when using a tax program millions of Americans use each year.

Call me crazy but this stuff really makes me wonder how they're going to manage billions when they can't even manage their own finances...

So, as I cruise through blogs and dating sites I've decided to throw statements like the one above in here. I'm doing it because I like pointing out the hypocrisy coming from the left and maybe someday I'll be able to hit 100 posts on this blog. Now before my libtard friends get their feathers in a ruffle I'm not saying that being hypocritical is unique to the left so no need to go pointing out all the idiots on the right, there are plenty.

Now, as for that quote, well I'm sure it won't surprise anyone that this woman says she resides in San Francisco, she is 51 and speaks French. One of the things she says she's good at is (in French) making meaningless phrases sound sexy... Apparently President Bush had this mystical power that effected her breathing because she's happy to report that she feels like she can breath again now that President Obama is in office. Her job is listed in the 'medicine/health' category...so one would think if she was having problems breathing for the last 8 years she could have done something about it. She's well read and enjoys a wide variety of activities, cultures and foods - something San Francisco offers a lot of. Oh and she looks good for her age.

Basically she's someone that while I would have no romantic interest in her, I most likely would find enjoyable topics to talk about with her...but she discriminates against others SO she gets a big fat ZERO.

My thoughts on the whole hypocrisy bit is that it seems like the Left loves to champion the freedom to be who you want to be...gay, communism, atheist, just about anything with an 'anti' in it and they expect everyone else to be accepting of these views. They push the belief that you can be what ever you want to be. Sounds good to me. If you're gay, I'm happy for you but I really don't want to see you behave any more explicitly than you see hetero couples act in public so instead of the stuff that goes on at the Folsom Street Fair...please limit it to holding hands and occasionally kissing. If you believe in communism, no problem there, the concept is cool but I don't think it works because people are greedy. You don't like God...that's your problem not mine...hope you're right when you die. The only thing that bothers me about religion is the whole anti-Christmas bit...I like saying Merry Christmas to people, I'm not telling them they have to be Christians or that they have to believe in God, all I'm saying is that I wish them well, I hope they are enjoying a time society has set aside for things like family and kindness....and that they spend lots of money to help out all the businesses. When I say Merry Christmas I'm not trying to offend anyone and I won't be offended if you were to say Happy Holidays back....but if you get pissed off because of what I said I'll call you a Grinch and tell you to get a F'ing life.

Well I kind of got off track there (sorta) but the point is that the Left preaches acceptance and yet I sure see a lot of them that can't accept someone that views politics a bit differently. What gives?? I can accept that you have a different opinion than mine but I don't hate you for it. If you're female, cute and between 28-38 I might even be interested in you romantically. Just because I am a Republican doesn't mean I'm the devil...in fact most people that know me would say I'm a pretty nice guy. so one of the other stories making it's rounds today is how the dress code has been relaxed in the White House...so what? Yes there is a time for a jacket and tie but if you're just having meetings, why bother with the jacket unless you are trying to help out all the dry cleaners with more business. I hated having to dress up anytime I had to brief down there, especially since there were only certain days I could wear my uniform instead. Suits are expensive!

How long has it been since he's lived in Hawaii? How long has he lived in a city that is proud of it's chilly winters? How warm does it have to be to grow orchids in the winter? Isn't he one of the believers in Global Warming? Or is this another example of do as I say, not as I do.

All I know is that when ever I get hit with a larger than normal utility bill the first thing to be changed is the thermostat...colder in the winter (that's what sweaters are for) and less A/C in the summer. Of course I'm just a low earning tax payer...

OK, we all know politics can make for some heated discussions, especially over the last ten years or so but more and more I'm seeing people behave in ways that just isn't beneficial to anyone. Now that I'm on the west coast or as I have frequently referred to it as the Left Coast I've been trolling a dating site or two just to see what's out there and have been shocked at how immature some people are. When I open up a profile to try and learn a little more about someone I might be interested in and see remarks like "Bush EWWWW" or Republicans not welcome or some form of blatant discrimination based solely on a persons political feelings I really wonder how pitiful the lives of those individuals must be. One of the ideals that goes back to the birth of this nation was freedom of speech and religion, true we don't always live up to that as well as we could but still, to out of hand dismiss someone simply because he may have different thoughts about something than you boggles my mind. Yes I disagree with a lot that Democrats believe in but you know what, I've got friends that are Democrats and feel pretty strongly about it and yet, they're still my friends. I enjoy it when we can talk politics and while I might not agree, I still respect their opinions. It saddens me that I don't see that respect being returned much from people outside of my friends and family. Why is that? How are we ever supposed to work together for the better of our society when so many are so narrow minded? Yes it's on both sides of the aisle, but I am only commenting on what I see personally.

The point of this is the whole dating thing, how many potentially awesome partners are these people missing out on just because they're too ignorant to accept the idea that someone may have a different point of view. Bush ewwww....that's the behavior I remember from third grade, when will these people grow up? And if they discriminate against someone for political beliefs, what else do they discriminate against....

Respect....it'd be nice to see more of it all around.

Lets take a trip down memory lane, eight years ago today...

and now a clip from earlier today, listen to what is being sung in the back ground...

The transfer of power that takes place on Inauguration Day is truly amazing and it's something that should be celebrated, not sullied with childish behavior. For our new President, he got to experience things the way they should always be, he got to get out of the limo and actually walk part way to the White House, I'm glad that everyone that didn't vote for him didn't act like the few in the two clips, or even like those that have been protesting in front of the White House or near Dupont Circle in DC with their shoe throwing events among others.

President Bush made mistakes during his two terms, some big and some small but he didn't deserve to be treated that way. During my last job in the Navy I got to know quite a few people that actually dealt with him on a frequent basis and as a person, they all respected him. The stories I heard about his family compared to the previous family...well the difference was substantial. The man cared about our country and he tried to do right by it. In the military you are forced to deal with all sorts of people, some good and some not so good but one thing you learn quickly is that you don't have to respect the individual, but you will respect the rank. The President deserves our respect and he gets it from me just as he should from everyone. I will be critical of his policies and actions I don't agree with but you will never see me throwing shoes at his picture or booing him if I were to see him pass by. If I was still wearing a uniform I'd salute him with pride and if I saw any other military person being disrespectful I'd chew some arse.

President Obama, I wish you the best of luck, the world is watching your every step and voting 'present' is no longer an option. The weight of responsibility is now upon your shoulders and I hope you bear it well. The buck stops at your desk and while you have come into office in troubled times it's now your responsibility to steer our nation towards better times. I hope you succeed because if you fail our nation fails and if that were to happen, well the world would be in for some dark times. I hope my doubts about your abilities are wrong, I hope you truly aren't a product of Chicago politics and I hope that you understand to be a success you'll have to find a place to lead from the middle. The far left and far right while they might think they have the best interests for our country in mind are actually far from it. The policies you create will have lasting effects both good and bad and unfortunately you can't make everyone happy. The men and women both in and out of uniform that see to your security and well being, treat them with the same respect they show you. They aren't your servants though they are at your beck and call, it's the title you currently hold that they serve. Your campaign set peoples expectations pretty high for your performance, have fun meeting that. The media helped you get where you are at now but they won't always be your friend, nothing sells like blood and guts. Loose the ego and do the best job you can serving our country. Good luck....we'll be watching.

I've pretty much just been keeping my mouth shut the last two months, real life has been doing a good job at focusing my attention elsewhere. Plus doing any blogging of any length via Iphone isn't all that much fun. Anyways a friend posted this today and I figured I'd put a link up here. I'm all for having a party, it is a historic occasion and all but it's hard to forget the uproar from just four years ago....for less than a third of the amount. Unless he really is The Messiah...or else the one that brings about the end of humanity, he's got a lot of hype to live up to. As I said before, I hope things are better four years from now, the way things are looking....not holding my breath. Still, all this hero worship is helping some people, there's always fools out there that'll buy what ever is the trendy thing at the moment. And for when reality sets in...you can always break this out for one more big O.

Although my doubts about President-Elect Obama are still there I wish him and our country the best of luck. He will be taking office in troubled times both economically and in the middle of a war, how he handles both will impact life not only in our country but throughout the world. I hope the candidate I saw on the trail isn't the one that takes office, being President isn't a popularity contest, hard decisions will need to be made and following approval ratings isn't what this nation needs. I hope he has better character than his past has shown and that he works with both parties to find the best solution. I hope that he has respect for the position people bestowed upon him and that he learns not to belittle easy targets. I hope his need to display leadership with quick action is tempered with sound judgment.

Most of all....I hope in four years I can look back at the job he has done leading our country and say to myself, I was wrong, he's done good.

One thing I just don't understand, if you were to believe the main stream propagandists about how Obama has this election in the bag, why do his supporters feel the need to do shady things? Voter registration, it's over folks and yet there are reports of people being allowed to still do so in Virginia without even checking their ID's...ACORN, well that's a fiasco that we may never know the truth about. It seems to me that no matter how this election turns out a huge percentage of people are going to lose even more faith in the process and there isn't much to begin with.

Part of me actually hopes that the Dems get their dream election, The One in the White House and a majority in both houses - their power won't last long because reality will finally sink in to the majority of citizens in our country but on the flip side, our country I fear will be much worse off than it is now. No party should ever have that kind of power and with POR (Pelsoi, Obama and Reed) in charge...well we'll all be in the poor house.

I did my part earlier today and voted and I hope everyone else does too. Each vote matters. It's obvious that I am hoping McCain will win but if he doesn't...I guess we'll finally learn what Obama really believes, what his views are and how much change he's really going to bring about.

So while I was reading about all the ambush journalism taking place with these interviews Biden was giving I was treated to a very hard hitting piece on one of the network early shows. What was this hard hitting piece you ask...well since it has been ALL over the news about Palin getting a make over when she was picked for the VP slot she's responded a bit in some of her stump speeches and it seems she's a fan of consignment stores. GASP!! So here's some of that hard hitting piece of reporting I was treated to this morning - very critical to the future of this country!!!!!

In the 7:30AM half hour, co-host Julie Chen investigated that Alaska consignment shop: "On the campaign trail yesterday, Governor Sarah Palin again addressed the criticism she has received over the $150,000 that the Republican National Committee spent to dress her and her family. She said she likes to shop in a consignment store called Out of the Closet. The owner is Ellen Arv -- Arvold and she joins us now.
Chen thoroughly interrogated Arvold: "So how long has Governor Palin shopped at your store?...What does she usually buy at your store? And does she also shop for her entire family there?...And, Ellen, what is the price range of your women's wear?...And how much does Governor Palin typically spend at your store?...And would you say your clothes look much different than what we've been seeing her wear on the campaign trail?" Arvold defended Palin: "...no, I don't think her style has changed too much. I have only seen a few pieces that she's bought here on the campaign trail, but, no, I -- you know, I think she looks great." To that, Chen replied: "Hey, for $150,000, she better look fantastic."

I'm sure you've all heard how that evil station down in Florida asked some harsh questions for Biden, he got all pissed off and now The One's campaign won't grant any more interviews to that station. I'm not defending that anchor that asked the questions, they could have been worded much more professionally BUT now another station has gotten banned.

Seems The One's teammate feels since he's running with The One that the same rules should apply and they should only get feel good type questions. Palin has been some pretty nasty questions, what's good for the goose is good for the gander! Oh and did you hear about government computers being used to dig up info on Joe the Plumber?? Is this the change you can believe in? Seems to be the very same tactics that the far left is blasting the Republicans of using... Change....yep it's business as usual but with different names.

His last line just scares the crap out of me, I mean why would I ever want to be rich any more when idiots like him in our government can casually say "there are a lot of very rich people out there whom we can tax at a point down the road and recover some of this money". When you add that line to one he said earlier in that clip about screw the deficit, lets spend and spend and spend some more....we're in trouble. He's the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and if you're wondering just what that committee does...well here you go - it oversees the entire financial services industry, including the securities, insurance, banking, and housing industries.

Where are we having problems....sound familiar?

If I was to ever be in a position to run for office or lobby someone in office there are just two things I'd like to see passed:

1. Term limits. Being a politician is NOT a career, get a job and see how the people you're supposed to be representing really live. Two or Three terms is more than enough, either move up or move out!

2. No more of this crap of politicians voting in their own pay raises. Instead of managing their own raises I would require them to be tied to the same percent that gets passed for the military. If a 3.9% for 2009(which is pretty high for us) is good enough for the men and women protecting our freedom, it's darn well good enough for the fat cats sitting on the hill. Oh and if you were wondering how much they make, well here is a snapshot from 2006. Think they earned it? I don't!

So as I watch, listen and read about the shenanigans of this election I am constantly amazed at how much hate comes from the rabid supporters of Obama. Now I don't think at all that he is stirring this up so my only complaint about him is that I'd like to see him address his flock and tell them how offensive it is, McCain is man enough to do so at his rallies. I also know there are a lot of good people that believe he's the better choice between the two viable candidates, that's great but there is also some really sad and demented people out there that scare the heck out of me. I've read countless posts where people are actually afraid to show their support for McCain, heck just look at what the media is doing with Joe the Plumber. Just because you ask a decent question to The One the next thing you know your whole past is being dug into...better than the candidate that got asked the question some would say. Point of that, don't ask The One hard questions!

Point two, don't wear shirts like this:

That being said I have NO issues eating them or as in the case of this link using them for educational purposes. I agree that simulations should be used more but there comes a point in the learning process where the student has to see and touch the real thing.

So over the last week or so it seems that people attending events in support of McCain have been saying some nasty things and of course it's been all over the news. My question is where has the media been for the last eight years with all the nasty things coming from the far left? I very rarely read Michelle Malkin's blog, she is just a bit to far on the right for me but I hope you'll take a look at this post. She doesn't inject a lot of her opinion, mostly it's just examples of the rage against the Republicans that has been out there, but not covered all that well.

It's sad how much hate there is out there, for example take a look at Fark, it's a site I usually take a look at once or twice a day to see what's going on in the world. Unfortunately over the last year or two it's becoming filled with hateful remarks and a very left spin, especially under the "politics" tab, hate, hate, hate, hate...there's nothing like liberal hate. People are so blinded by this hate, yes I know it exists on both sides, that constructive dialog between the parties is getting more and more difficult. Until us folk that reside more in the middle learn to marginalize the hate from the far left and the far right nothing is going to get fixed, politicians will continue to bleed our country dry with wasteful bailouts, earmarks, failed programs, long holidays and rampant bloviating. Only when the two parties can meet in the middle will this nation return to it's path of greatness.

Something else to look at when you're trying to decide which candidate you're going to vote for, who has actually crossed the aisle more with their voting and remember to actually look at their record instead of the spin that's out there. Now Tiff and I usually don't see eye to eye politically but I do agree with her that citizens of this country should vote. The thing that scares me is the people that don't take the time to vote intelligently. Issues matter, vision matters, experience matters, history matters, but you know what doesn't matter, race or sex. It's sad that both racism and sexism still exist in this country, I wish they didn't but it's even more sad that there will be people that vote just on that basis. Unfortunately both parties are going to have voters that will be guilty of it though neither wants to admit it. Why? Because it's childish, stupid and sad. Now I'm not a fan of Howard but this clip from his radio show scares the heck out of me.

I wish the people in this clip were the only ones out there but I think I have better odds at winning the lottery than that being true. I have tried really hard to not get too political in my blog, not sure how much longer that will last but we'll see. So, all I'll say is that in my opinion, neither party is putting forth their best candidate for this election, both tickets have issues, the key is that you need to look deeper than just what the media is putting out. Vote in this election, but take some time and look at the issues, don't base your views just on one web site or sound bite. Dig into each of the players that want to be President, see where they came from, see how they have voted on things in the past and realize that right now, they're just saying what ever they can to get your vote. Don't be a lemming following everyone else just because it feels good to be in a group, that group doesn't always take you where you want to go. Step out and look at things from different points of view, make an informed decision when you cast your vote.

This is our country, not the politicians, make your voice heard.

So as I was posting a link in response to a friend's post I happened to see a video for a song that brought back a lot of memories.

I'm sure some of you have heard about Dr. Demento but how many of you remember listening to him every week on the radio. I do. Every Sunday after I had supposedly gone to bed I'd have my radio tuned in to hear what crazy stuff he had come up with and then joke about it at school the next day. There were lots of other programs on the radio too, The War of the Worlds is one that is so much better hearing it like it was intended versus the made for tv copies that have come out over the years. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is another that I enjoyed listening to. Around Halloween tales from Edgar Allan Poe and others were guaranteed to make you jump at strange noises... All things that while I'm sure still exist on either radio or satellite broadcast somewhere but have a much smaller audience, I think that is unfortunate.

TV and the internet have really changed how our imagination is formed as we're growing up and I'm not so sure that we're better off for it.

So, I am being blackmailed to either post or suffer embarrassment by the posting of some pictures taken a couple hours after my sister's wedding. Now I do remember drinking LOTS of wine that night, no clue how much "LOTS" was but enough that I actually danced with at least two friends. After we all got kicked out of the place where the wedding was held the drinking continued at another location which is where these pictures were supposedly taken... The problem this blackmailer has is that I'm thinking they can't be any more embarrassing than the ones I'm sure I have of her. She is just as talented at making funny faces as I am though she is a lot better looking so the advantage is in her favor. Besides, not a whole lot of people know me on her blog and the ones that do...well they're friends and it's kind of hard to get embarrassed among friends.

Yes as the very few that for some reason check this blog have said it's been a while since my last post. There has sort of been a reason for this, a stupid one but still I just have not felt like blogging because I knew what topic would come up. Some may figure it out by the time frame of my last post but that's all I'll say. Sorry, it's old news and that's where I'll leave it.

For a while I was thinking about using this to keep everyone up to date on my road trip cross country...obvious that didn't happen. It was an awesome trip that I hope someday to be able to do again. Minus riding through the hail that is...

Not the greatest of pictures but if you picture those round bruises on arms and legs vice the face...well that's what I looked like. Twice I've had to endure hail with no overpass, tree or anything else to hide under...two times too many!

I could ramble on about the MILF I had dinner with tonight...unfortunately even though she's divorced she'll remain in the fantasy realm as we're friends and that's it. Plus I just don't think I could keep up with her, she's an incredible woman that is so smart, caring and really just a genuinely wonderful person to have as a friend. The saying floating out there about how for every insanely beautiful woman out there, some guy is sick of her crap...well I know one of those guys, her ex, and he's a fool.

Tiff and Beth you two have picked on me the most about not blogging so you get your names in here. Tiff, I'll return the favor and say that I'm sure you were a beautiful bride!!! :P OK, so I'm feeling pretty safe 2500 miles away but still, I know you will find some pictures that you do like just because you are a beautiful woman and it's kind of hard for a camera to mess that up.

...again, feeling glad for a 2500 mile buffer zone other wise I'm sure I'd feel the smack heading my way. :)

I really hope this program works and I'd like to see other cities offer similar initiatives - renewable energy is a smart way to go, it's not the final solution but I think it is the direction this country needs to be looking towards. I came really close to blogging about he who has killed more people with his car than I have with my guns but I'm glad others in that wacko state had a momentarily lapse of sanity.

Anyway, don't want to shock you all too much so I won't ramble much more about my views on the environment; I may be somewhat conservative but that doesn't mean I can't love the outdoors and want to see them preserved.

A friend of mine has occasionally remarked that she has felt the desire to censor what she posts due to the folks that read her blog, well I know exactly how that feels and in a way I have used that as an excuse for not blogging. My sister has pointed out that I 'over analyze' things and she's right, I do, but that and my curiosity are two traits that serve me well at work and I have never developed the ability to turn them off. In fact she has in the past called me Monk, not sure if she meant it as a compliment or not but while I've never been or ever will be that much of a neat freak I do tend to notice and hear things that most people seem to overlook. Just like Johnny 5 I like data and my mind tries to make sense of all the bits and pieces I collect. Unfortunately in my world I don't always find the square hole to go with the square peg and that's when the over analyzing starts. Wish I could turn it off....

Okay so there's a lot going on in my mind and for a change it isn't all about work. BUT on the work front a lot is going on too, not going to bitch to much about that here except to say that I've got six months left before I start Terminal Leave and for you non-military types out there that means that the way I've planned things out I'll be collecting my Navy check for about three months with out having to be there. I haven't decided how soon after I check out of the Navy that I want to start my second career, I've already gotten a couple options lined up but those are based on me staying in my current location. I've got a great opportunity to go anywhere I want when I'm done here and even though someone has said I've based two previous moves on my job I've already decided that this time around it's going to be based on the heart. Those two previous moves cost me something and I've learned that I'm no longer willing to pay that price.

One of the options I'm actually considering is a new one that is still in the "maybe....let's see what we can do" kind of phase that would actually keep me in the employment of the government. I wasn't originally considering that route as the $$$ wouldn't be as good but the job I'd be doing is the fun part of what I do now only with a raise and a lot different poo*. Not going to comment more on that until the path gets a little clearer.

- little side bar here regarding the 'different poo'. Every job has it's poo and yes I'm using poo instead of a four letter word that starts with S. One nice thing about the military is that every three years or so you move, essentially you change jobs and get a different boss so I look at it as new poo, it still stinks but it's a different stink so it isn't as bad as the old stink you got tired of at the last job. As for the different poo I was referring to earlier, well some would still be the same but I'd be without the Navy poo and that my friends I am VERY tired of.

So have I rambled enough yet Tiff? :)

To end this post on a lighter note I've included a picture. I found this online tonight and in a way it's very appropriate for me to share this with everyone right now as the picture was taken when I had only been in the Navy for five months, almost half a life ago. 19 years ago I was attending class with the Sailors you see here and as I look back it's been a pretty good 19 years. Yeah sure there are probably a few things I'd like to pass on to that younger me if I could but for the most part I'm happy with how things turned out. As for what I'd pass on if I could, well I think the two biggest ones I've already kind of mentioned earlier in this post, I've learned from those two periods in my life but I know I could have handled things better.

I'm sure Ms. 40wordquoata would be surprised to hear that but I really don't know what to say about some of the people out on the Left Coast. Today was just like many other days where I was doing my part for the environment and rode my bike into work. Okay I mainly do it for the parking spot but hey it's cheaper on gas so while it might not be the main purpose behind the riding of the bike it still counts!

anyways less I become like Mary and ramble about 14 different subjects I'll get back to the point of this post.

Now normally I put the house keys into my jacket which works out great....except today I had to be different and I put them into the backpack containing a laptop I used on my trip last weekend. No big deal if I had only remembered to take those keys out of that backpack when I left work for the day. It's always fun when you get home just before a rather nice thunderstorm rolls in and really don't feel like getting soaked just so you can go back to work for some stupid keys. Thankfully 'adaptable' is part of my nature so I had an alternate way into my home. Good thing....it was a pretty cool thunder storm! :)

Before any of you start huffing and puffing it's not that I'm against a woman President it's just that I'm against her in the office. I think while many Libtards love her and worship her, she is the worst candidate they could try and shove down our throats and the Rep's would really have to try harder then they did this last election to lose. Hillary and Nancy running the country...nope not in this lifetime. Send all of them home, it's time for some new blood in our leadership.

Some day this country will elect a woman as President but when we do we're going to find that just because this country knows women are just as capable at performing most jobs as men, not all countries have realized that and it's going to be just that much harder to deal with them.....as if we're having a hard enough time as it is.

UGH!!! I HATE POLITICS!!!! We need a viable third party to come in and clean out both sides of the fence!!!!!

I'm tired, physically and mentally. I'm now going to the gym four days a week trying to lose my fatness, it's something I want and need to do and I am happy I'm doing it, but I'm freaking tired. I haven't been able to work out a diet that gives me the energy I need without leaving me starving but I'm working on that. It doesn't help when you're also mentally tired because of stupid crap. I was stuck in a meeting today and one of the topics of discussion was why we're wasting so much time in meetings.... UGH! It's amazing we do the things we do given how little time we actually spend on the actual tasks....scary is more like it. I just want to do my job, I just want to pass on the skills that I have to the folks that work for me and I want work to be fun. I wish communication worked better in my office and as an example I just found out today that I'm leaving on Sunday for New York. New York isn't a surprise, Sunday is as I was scheduled to go in March. Alas the powers that be made the decision and never bothered to tell me...good thing I didn't have a date next week... HA (you're supposed to laugh with me at that)

OK, enough bitching.... I don't know why my office has had a communication problem for a long time now but it's old and I wish we could figure out a way to fix it. Everyone has good ideas but they just don't seem to work. I miss the days where my knowledge and opinions weren't as important except to those in my war room even though I do like the stroking of my ego when I see the impact I actually do have. blah blah blah. Yes I have an ego and I wish I could share some of the things that got me to where I'm at now with all of you but and here I go using an oldie but goodie.....I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you! :)

So there, I've blogged. Still not the blogs that are bumping into the rocks in my head but we'll see if I can ever get them out. I really like the picture a day bit that Liz and Michele are doing, keep it up girls it's something I look forward to checked everyday. There are others out there that need to blog too and I'd say one in particular needs to start a blog but she has a hard enough time responding to emails so I won't hold my breath on that. I doubt I'm going to blog before I leave on Sunday but I will be taking pictures up there and since I'll be in the Empire State Building I'll be going up top a lot as I love the view from there. It's sad that the skyline just doesn't look the same anymore but it's still a beautiful city.

Might be a little bit harder for me than some of you since I can't take a camera with me to work, but we'll see what I can do.

I've got a few more errands to run today - yes I'm a very typical male when it comes to Christmas shopping - but then I'll be heading down to my sister's place on the other side of DC. It's the first East Coast Christmas for our family and while not everyone made it out here they'll still be in our thoughts.

Mr. Sense had been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable Parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge).

His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.

Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a huge financial settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

So here we are, hours away from the polls opening and you know what, I think the only losers in this election will be the people. I'm really fed up with the crooks in both parties slinging crap every which way while doing nothing but voting in raises for themselves. Too many of those fat arses that sit up on the hill have been there far to long and need to go. They've forgotten that they are up there as a voice for the people and not to just forward their own agenda.

We limit how long a President can sit in the house, isn't it time we do the same for the fools just down the road? The people need to make their voices heard, both parties have lost sight of who they really work for. I'm scared if the GOP loses because the current crop of libtards have the wrong agenda and no matter what you think of Iraq, we are at war. Iraq isn't the war, it's just the location part of it is taking place - NEVER forget that!! Terrorism knows no borders and if we pull out of Iraq like many want things will just get worse. We have to finish what we started, the reasons behind that start no longer matter but the way we finish will determine our fate for many years to come.

I'd also like to thank the mental midgets that approved my 2.2% raise this year. Way to go folks, really makes us in uniform feel appreciated.

Maybe it's a guy thing but shibby is, in my world that is, frequently used in place of another word for caca.

WHY would you try and create a place for people to pay you lots of money to use the internet and then call it fecal matter? Strange I tell you!

Yes as the few that occasionally look at this know it's been a while since the last update and I was yet again reminded of that today.

Well unfortunately I really don't have much to say. I'm not going to complain about work, I did that on the other space. Not having any female problems, actually wish I did because then that would mean I was actually seeing someone but alas, no special someone in my life at the moment. Nope, about the only thing that has changed is I indulged in some retail therapy and bought a new TV.

So, here we have a post that most certainly takes after the name of this blog...random rambles.

I know some of you would suggest that I do a meme or something and while I get a kick out of reading some of them, well reading about you all wearing thongs is a lot more interesting then me talking about my boxers. There's been a couple of really insightful posts on the blogs I frequent and as you know I have made a few LONG remarks in some...doesn't that count for something?

I wish I was going to Cabo instead of where I am going on the 10th. It's a trip for work so you'll have to wait until after I get back for more info. :) A hint is it's a place I used to live and one I wouldn't mind going back to.

ramble ramble... I'll see you all in less then three weeks and I'm looking forward to it for more reasons than just getting Cheese House. :)

A while back I signed up on the Patriot Guard Riders *webpage because I believe in what they do and thought it was something I'd like to be a part of. Well, today I participated in my first ride and I couldn't have picked a better day for it. Instead of paying respects to a fallen hero, we provided an escort for one of the members daughters as she prepared to ship out for the Air Force. ** There were about 25 of us that took part in this and it was a really enjoyable experience - the weather was great, not hot or humid plus the route we took was all back roads through the country side. Something she is going to remember for a long time to come. Plus, showing up to the hotel where a group of other recruits were milling about with an escort of a bunch of bikers...well that's one way to make an impression!! :)

I do plan on taking part in future missions, but I'm glad that my first was a positive one. (Tiff, why does it seem like it's 'firsts' post week?) Sorry, no pictures from this ride but we were riding in a pretty close formation and I didn't want to hear Michele ask about if my photography technique was safe or not.

* Amalgamation - What the heck is this? I looked it up in Websters and while I understand the thought behind what they want to say, I think I could have come up with a different word. Just me...

well it's later and I'm still going through videos when I came across this:

Memories are funny things and watching this video I was instantly transported back to my high school years and more specifically to a time when I partook in a controlled substance - pot. Yep, I was a pothead. Anyways, my friends and I used to frequent an arcade near our school and they had a video-jukebox that was constantly playing the latest videos while we pumped quarters into the games. There were several games I got pretty good at but Excitebike is the one that is a part of this memory just because of where it was placed in relation to the video-jukebox. I don't know how many times I've seen that video over the years, but everytime I do, I always seem to remember playing that game at that arcade.

Why did I bring up the pot? I don't know, maybe because a few of the times I played that game, hearing and seeing that video while stoned kind of cemented it into my conscious. Who knows... Doesn't matter either but well, I just thought I'd share a memory.

One of the sites I usually hit at least once a day is Fark, it's always worth a good laugh and a place to find some of the more odd stories in the news. Today is no different except this time it wasn't the news but something that has taken me back to a period that helped define who I am today. Music has always played a part in a persons life and while I can't say the 80's produced a lot of good music, it is a period that I do fondly look back at - SO - here's a link that'll take you back to songs you've long since forgotten along with ones that should still be forgotten. (word of warning, I've spent a lot of time going through this watching videos that MTV USED to play)

You all know I like including video clips in my blog, this post is no different, except it's not the Hoff I bring you but a song that'll stick in your head all day!!!!! :) Enjoy.

OK,OK, as some of you have pointed out to me, I haven't blogged in a bit. :) While not much of interest has been going on in my life I have been busy catching up with work and helping a friend. While I wouldn't say I'm lacking in the quanity of friends, the number of quality friends that I have is very small so when one of them needs something, everything else goes by the wayside. This particular friend has been there for me when I needed someone to talk to even when it was the same thing over and over again. Even though the frustrations levels got pretty high at times because I kept making the same mistakes, I always had someone to turn to when I needed it. That is what a friend is and she will always be one.

SO besides that, here's a final update from Vegas. :)

What might you ask is this about? Well...for those of you that use wireless to connect your computers around the house, thanks for sharing with everyone around you!! WEP, WPA and WPA2, not as secure as you might think and this wall is an example. This picture was taken just an hour or so after the CON started, by the end of the day, passwords and accounts listed were nearing 100. All the ones listed on this wall were sent in the clear - by that, I mean the individual wasn't using any method of encryption so it was very easy to capture. Methods of encryption available with your standard wireless router such as WEP, WPA and WPA2 do offer you some protection, but still, they all have their weaknesses. Not going to turn this into a class so...if you've got questions, let me know and I'll be glad to offer my opinions and suggestions.

Picture's only tell a small part of this night. This blog is about me, so it's just me that you see here. Not Jenny McCarthy (aka Playboy bunny dream girl) or Otis Day and the Knights (Animal House and more...) even they were the star performers of the night... Nope, those pictures will be posted later. Tonight, or this morning how ever you look at it, is about me. I had one awesome fucking time. I had fun wearing a toga and even though it was a rather weird feeling with that free flowing air between the legs....well towards the end of the night I finally got comfortable with it. Oh and by the way, I'm still drunk as I type this post. :) After Otis and crew we went to Pure for a 'after-hours' party...yeah it's a nice club but that picture of the 'golden' girl was the third one I took of her....and the only one where the two of us are in it. You all get the drift....I was thinking very impure thoughts of her but even though she was someone else's eye-candy, she still blushed when I took her picture. Oh.....dreams.... :)

Yeah she caught my fancy.... oh well....

Anyhow, as I stumbled off to my room alone....wishing I had some company....at least I can still say I had a great time.

I'm off to dream land with a smile even though I know how much tomorrow is going to suck.

Yes I have been doing other things besides what you see here...but....this is more interesting since it is not something I do often. I will get some more pictures up soon, got a 'thing' planned for tomorrow that may prove to be interesting but you'll just have to wait to find out more.
