first there was the campaign....now reality.

OK, sorry about the previous post and the pics not fitting...I was tired.

Now we all know that politicians lie, it's a sad fact and one I wish we the voting public would call them on....but we don't and they keep lying. Shame on us. Campaigns are all about lying, you say one thing to one group and another to a different crowd the next day, that's where history is important since you have to look at an individuals values and voting record to get an idea of what they'll really be like. Still, some campaign promises are actually easy ones to keep...if you've got nothing to hide that is. Take Obama's promise for more transparency in our Government - the one about posting bills online for us to review before he signs them...simple to keep, you'd think! I don't expect every one to meet his promise, somethings need to be signed quickly, but come on...why couldn't he at least get a few up there?

Why aren't more people calling him on these? Why are his followers still stuck in the clouds? If the people in your life can't keep simple promises do you have faith in them to keep the big ones? I don't...

Quote of the day...

Isn't it fabulous how Obama has reconciled with our enemies and put fear into the hearts of Americans? Does any image illustrate so neatly the wrongheadedness of the Obama administration than Americans scrambling in terror from Air Force One?

-From Tantor

You know what bugs me the most about the crap that took place today with the VC-25 is that in a previous life I probably briefed the pilot who was at the stick flying today and knowing how much pride they take in their job he's probably feeling really bad for the distress caused by that flight. The men and women of the Presidential Airlift Group are some of the most professional I've ever met and having Col. Tillman (THE Presidential Pilot) tell me he's got my six as I was going into a potentially hostile brief is a memory I'll always cherish.

Pizza?

No expense is too great for our President.

still waiting to see change from business as usual...or at least that's what he campaigned on. Could someone that thinks he's doing a good job please try and explain it to me, I just want to understand because I honestly don't see it. Yes Bush had problems, No I don't think McCain was the best choice the Republicans could have put on the ticket...but I really, honestly, don't see how people can believe in the path he's taking us.

apologizer-in-chief.

How about ASU saying Obama hasn't done enough for a honorary degree...well he's done a lot of volunteering, he's taught a few classes...finagled his way into politics...he did run a very effective campaign and got himself elected President. Since those degrees are mostly BS anyways I would have given him one but still, I applaud ASU for coming right out and saying that he hasn't done anything yet, that his excellence is yet to come. Yeah, I have to agree with that statement.

meh...time to head over to the cabin.

It's Your Country Too,

Mr. President.

Tax Bomb

Has the government ever done anything efficiently? If I went to court to file bankruptcy and told the Judge that I was just trying to spend my way out of debt do you think I'd get off without owing anything?

Here's one point of view on President Spendorama.

Since our politicians can crap out numbers that work to their advantage here's a few from the last election:

"Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out facts of 2008 Presidential election:

Number of States won by:
Democrats: 19
Republicans: 29

Square miles of land won by:
Democrats: 580,000
Republicans: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by:
Democrats: 127 million
Republicans: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Democrats: 13.2
Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds:
“In aggregate, the map of the territory won by Republicans was mostly the land owned by the hard working, law abiding, taxpaying citizens of the country.."
